Nancy Van Schooenderwoert
Partnering with Executives to Create Customised Agile Adoption Stragegies
Nancy has over 20 years experience in software and systems development, and has been coaching agile teams since 1999. She now assists managers in designing and conducting agile adoption programmes, primarily in the UK.
Nancy has a deep understanding of complex systems, both technical and organisational. She has extensive experience in building large scale, real-time systems for flight simulation and ship sonars, as well as software development for safety-critical applications such as factory machine control and medical devices. Nancy has held positions in electrical, systems, and software engineering, as well as in test design.
Having seen the problems fostered by a "hero" approach to software development, Nancy became convinced that a team approach is the best way to build reliable systems efficiently. She became an XP practitioner in 2000, a co-founder of Agile Rules in
2003, and is now President of Lean-Agile Partners with a continuing
affiliation to Agile Rules.
Other interests include board game design. She has published a game based on penrose tilings, http://www.gamepuzzles.com/pentuniv.htm. Nancy holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology. Nancy was a founding member of the IEEE 1648 Working Group for Establishing and Managing Software Development Efforts Using Agile Methods.
